Organic Japanese Matcha
Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in all cells of the human body. It is naturally produced in body specifically from liver and also from the fatty foods we eat. Our body needs cholesterol as it produces hormones, helps in digestion and are the structural component of cells.
There are two types of Cholesterol namely LDL (bad cholesterol) and HDL (good cholesterol). Presence of excess of bad cholesterol leads to blockage of blood vessels and thus increases the chances of heart attack, stroke, etc.
To maintain the balance of good and bad cholesterol one should drink Matcha tea. Japanese Matcha tea is a great source of Catechins which helps in lowering bad cholesterol level without affecting good cholesterol level.
Accumulation of fatty deposits on the walls of the arteries due to excess bad cholesterol can lead to Atherosclerosis. Good cholesterol, however, prevents Atherosclerosis and must exist in proper balance with bad cholesterol for good health.
Catechins which forms the major component of Matcha tea helps in lowering the bad cholesterol level. Japanese Matcha Green Tea is steamed, stemmed, and deveined before being stone-ground into very fine powder. This process makes sure that Catechins are present in pure and concentrated form without oxidizing, unlike other green tea.
Recently due to increase in popularity of Matcha tea worldwide, many researchers are researching on health benefits of Matcha tea. One such research was done by Department of Food and Nutritional Science, University of Shizuoka.
The research results are based on the data from the survey conducted in Matcha tea producing regions and scientific experiment on mice. The result shows that green tea Catechins acts only to limit the excessive rise in blood cholesterol. The first human study to show the effect of Green tea on LDL conducted by Vanderbilt University Medical Centre in 2003 suggests similar results.
